RECRUITMENT OF ASSISTANT ENGINEER (CIVIL & ELECTRICAL/MECHANICAL)

Applications are invited by Uttarakhand Peyjal Sansadhan Vikas Evam Nirman Nigam (A Govt. of
Uttarakhand Undertaking) Dehradun (Uttarakhand) for the recruitment to the post of Assistant Engineer
(Civil, Electrical/Mechanical).
The number of vacancies can increase or decrease as per the discretion of Uttarakhand Peyjal Sansadhan
Vikas Evam Nirman Nigam, Dehradun. Vacancies include the backlog of previous years. The service rules approved
by Board of Directors of Uttarakhand Peyjal Sansadhan Vikas Evam Nirman Nigam will be applicable to candidates
to be selected in service. Appointment will be made in phases on probation for a period of two years. The selected
candidates can be posted at any place in Uttarankhand. Canvassing in any form by the candidates will render them
liable of cancellation of their candidature.
1- RESERVATION :-
The reserved post shall be filled as per the reservation policy of the Govt. of Uttarakhand for candidates belonging to
SC/ST & OBC categories of Uttarakhand only. The horizontal reservation in each category for Female, Ex-service
man, Handicapped, Dependents of Freedom Fighters and Ex-service man will be as per current prevailing orders of
Govt. of Uttarakhand only for the residents of Uttarakhand.
2- ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS :
(i) The candidate must be a citizen of India.
(ii) Married male candidates who have more than one living wife or female candidates who have married to a
person who has already a living wife are not eligible to apply.
(iii) Candidates serving in Govt./Semi Govt. Organisations must send their application duly forwarded by their
present employer.
3- ESSENTIAL EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:
(As on 01-07-2011)
Candidates besides having a thorough knowledge of Hindi Devnagri script must have obtained following
Degree.
Assistant Engineer (Civil & Electrical/Mechanical): Bachelor's degree in Civil & Electrical or Mechanical
Engineering respectively from Govt. recognized Institute/University approved by AICTE or it's equivalent or
Associate Membership/Membership in Civil & Electrical or Mechanical Engineering respectively from Institution of
Engineers (I), with Section A & B passed.
4- AGE LIMIT :(As on 01-08-2011) Not more than 35 years
5- RELAXATION IN AGE:
Age relaxation of up to 05 years is admissible to the applicants of Uttarakhand belonging to the categories of SC/ST,
OBC, Handicapped, Dependents of Freedom Fighter & Ex-Servicemen. For Fighters of Uttarakhand state movement,
the upper age limit is 50 years. Relaxation will be subject to production of valid documentary evidence. There is no
age limit for departmental candidates. Departmental candidates herein above refers to the candidates who are
employed in Uttarakhand Peyjal Sansadhan Vikas Evam Nirman Nigam on regular basis.
6- SELECTION PROCESS:
The selection will be made through written examination and interview. The written examination will consist of a
single, objective type question paper of three hours duration. There will be negative marking for wrong answer. The
candidates who satisfy all other conditions will be called for the interview at Dehradun on the basis of merit list of the
written examination. The candidates will not be entitled to any TA/DA for appearing in written examination and
interview.
7- DATE OF EXAMINATION: The date of examination is given in the Handbook of Information.
8- CENTRES FOR WRITTEN EXAMINATION:
The written examination will be held at centres at Dehradun (Garhwal) and Pantnagar (Kumaun) in Uttarakhand.
9- How to apply:
Application forms alongwith Handbook of Information can be obtained from January 2nd, 2012 from branches of
Punjab National Bank located at Indira Nagar, Dehradun/Hardwar Road, Rishikesh/Railway Road, Hardwar/B.T.
Ganj, Roorkee/Srinagar(Garhwal)/Kotdwar/ Almora/Nainital Road, Haldwani (Main Branch)/ Rudrapur/Lal Bagh,
Lucknow/G.T. Road, Ghaziabad/ Hauzkhas, New Delhi/Sector 17 B, Chandigarh by paying Rs. 1200/- for the post of
Assistant Engineer (Rs. 600/- for SC/ST candidates, only for permanent resident of Uttarakhand). Candidates
from states other than Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Delhi can also obtain
application forms alongwith Handbook of Information from the Office of Chief Engineer(HQ.), Uttarakhand Peyjal

fee & Rs. 100/- extra (postage charges) by demand draft of Nationalised Bank payable at Dehradun, in favour of
